Mike was 10 years older then me and lived up the street on Virgil Road. I remember that he was a newspaper carrier for the "Price Hill News", when we first moved into the neighborhood. He would have been about 15 years old and I was 5.
We all looked up to Mike in the neighborhood and one day he went off with the Marines. We'll never forget the day we heard the sad news of Mike's death. His sister was in my class at St. Dominic's. What a loss to the family and such sorrow in the neighborhood. I remember his funeral and the sadness.
At the time of Mike's death I was the neighborhood newsboy for the"Price Hill News". It's a small connection I have with Mike and it makes me think of him often. One day I will visit the WALL, but I will never forget Mike.
